Mental Health Counseling Intern
Jingqi was born and raised in China and is bilingual in Mandarin and English. She holds a Bachelor of Art’s degree in psychology with honors from the Ohio State University, and is currently studying at New York University Steinhardt’s Master’s in Counseling program for Mental Health Wellness. She has also experienced working as a research assistant on projects surrounding alexithymia and emotional flexibility, which informed her clinical practice.
Jingqi’s clinical interests include eating disorders, anxiety, stress, depression, and interpersonal and intimate relationships. She utilizes an integrative approach that draws techniques from psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Operating from a multicultural and diversity-sensitive lens, Jingqi sees each client as unique and believes people are the experts of themselves. By creating a safe and affirmative space and working collaboratively with her clients, Jingqi tailors her approach to each client to support them in reaching their full potential.
