Julie Mirliss, LCSW
Julie received her Masters degree in Social Work at The Columbia University School of Social Work. Since completing her degree, Julie has worked extensively with the eating disorder population in a variety of settings. She has worked at Monte Nido Manhattan’s Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient program, where she held positions there as a therapist and program coordinator. Julie has additional experience working in private practice, as well as providing meal support to clients through Eating Disorder Recovery Specialists. Additionally, Julie has co-facilitated support groups through the Alliance on Eating Disorder Awareness. Her outpatient work focuses on the treatment of eating disorders, disordered eating, body image and helping individuals on their journey to self-acceptance and recovery. Julie’s therapeutic style is compassionate, non-judgmental, and strengths-based. Julie believes in creating a safe space for individuals, in order to foster growth and allow them to access their full potential. Julie tailors her sessions to meet individual needs and draws on evidence based research approaches including CBT, DBT, and mindfulness practices to inform her work.
