Mental Health Counseling Intern

Sanjana was born and brought up in India and is fluent in English, Hindi and Gujrati. Sanjana holds a Bachelor of Art’s degree in psychology with Honors from Pandit Deendayal Energy University, India and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Counseling degree in Mental Health and Wellness from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Sanjana has worked with people from different cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds which overall helps her operate from a sensitive and empathetic lens. Sanjana is trained in transactional analysis and, therefore, can analyze the client’s social interactions and behaviours in a clinical direction.


Sanjana’s clinical interests include eating disorders, anxiety, stress, substance abuse, trauma and intimacy issues. Sanjana’s therapeutic approach is collaborative in nature, as she strives to create a warm, empathetic and non-judgmental space for her clients. Sanjana tailors her sessions to meet the individual needs of her clients and uses transactional analysis, strength based, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness-based approaches. She believes the ability to empathize, connect and listen has tremendous power in the process of healing. She is a strong advocate for self-growth and self-love and believes every client has the strength and courage to change their story.
