Jennifer Herz, LMSW

PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Jen works with adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, OCD, chronic illness, chronic pain, and patterns that feel difficult to shift. Many of her clients are thoughtful and self-aware. They've spent time trying to understand themselves, but still find themselves caught in the same emotional or relational cycles.

Her approach is grounded in a psychodynamic lens, with integration of evidence-based treatments like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and ACT when helpful, particularly for anxiety and OCD. She has a particular interest in the psychological weight of living with chronic illness or pain. The grief, identity shifts, and relational strain that often go unaddressed alongside the physical experience. She focuses on helping clients understand the patterns shaping how they relate to themselves and others, while supporting meaningful change in the present.

Jen places a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of the work. She aims to create a space where clients feel understood, and from there, collaborate with them to identify what's keeping them stuck and begin to shift those patterns over time.

She is based in Austin, TX, where she sees clients through her private practice, Herz Psychotherapy, and is excited to expand her footprint to New York through Attune.
